Shah Rukh Khan arrives at Arthur Road Prison to meet his son Aryan Khan
On Thursday morning, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan arrived at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai to meet with his son Aryan Khan after his bail statement was rejected yesterday by a special NDPS court. The star boy is currently in jail in connection with the case of seizure of prohibited drugs aboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
Aryan Khan has approached the Bombay High Court seeking bail in the matter. His advocates have filed an appeal at the HC, challenging the lower court order, and will present the matter in court today at 10:00 am.
The appeal is likely to be heard before a single court of Judge N W Sambre.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, when the matter was called to order in the afternoon, Special Judge Patil said: "Rejected." The court reportedly rejected Aryan's bail based on the WhatsApp chats that were retrieved from his phone. The NCB has alleged that these chats establish their nexus with vendors and street vendors. The NDPS court said: "Prima facie material showing that Khan was in contact with persons who traffic in prohibited narcotic substances as alleged by the prosecution."
Aryan Khan and the others have been charged with crimes under Sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27, 28, 29, and 35 of the NDPS Act. They were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 3 and are currently in judicial custody.
The star child was captured by the NCB along with seven other people on October 2. The agency raided a cruise ship in Mumbai and blew up a drug party.
