More about the making of 'Toofan'.
Four years ago, when we decided to make the movie, I didn't know much about boxing. I had to go through documentaries to understand it. I spoke with many boxers from Maharashtra. I realized that this sport is for the marginalized. If you go to the United States, it is the blacks who practice boxing. If you are an athlete from Cuba, Haryana or Northeast India, it is always the underdog who express themselves through this sport.
Most importantly, what I have learned is that the person who suffers the most is the last man standing. This is the metaphor that I have used in the movie. Life can be unfair to you. But you must get back on your feet.
